In Her Eyes

The pain of a woman lies in her eyes
You can peak through those windows of disguise
Facets of personalities in squints and cries
Blank stares of expressionless hope incise
Cuts deep to your core, your comprehension’s apprised
But will never fathom its entirety as you chastise
Belittle my mood, and blame it on all that you can see apply
But you fail to see me
Just look a bit more deeply
The strength of a woman rests in her eyes
You can focus on her soul if your mind can comprise
Collect her hardships and ability to prevail and surprise
The muscles in her heart will pump longer than those in her thighs
If you take the time to see that then you can fathom her wise
All of what you need to maintain she can provide
Every plan you ever formulate she will implement and devise
But you fail to put the effort in completely
Just look a bit more deeply
The love of a woman beats in her eyes
You can envision her heart if you can avoid to deny
Embellish yourself in being an ally
Intent is more than welcome to being revised
Eye will not hide
I will not hide
Embracing you with parting lashes
Pupils console and constrict me from flight
Wide shut in the same glance, self-protection from your possible defy
Please refrain yourself from telling them lies
Because tears form warm but fall like ice
And shatter the bond, destroying all ties
Then we die
Then we die
But you fail to see me
Just look a bit more deeply
Yours Truly.

WE BLOG FOR LOVE DOC. PT. 1

This is IVL status for two reasons.
  1. Dope Black Artists. My homegirl Rebecca Lee is an amazing artist. Whether it is video, photography, and/or new media art, she is on top of her game and is driven with fresh and dope ideas. Here is a concept she came up with by herself, raised money by herself, and went on the road and made it happen by herself, and saw her vision through. The premise is relevant, and I couldn't be more envious (lol not really) that I didn't think of it first. But overall, it is relevant to document us Generation Y kids and how we now communicate through BLOGGING. So she is DOPE. click and check her blog out.
  2. She used music of mine in the documentary and I was completely up for it. I appreciate her reaching out taking a liking to my music because once I found out about her project I was so down to be apart of it.
SO ALL OF THIS IS LEAGUE. CHECK OUT PT. 2 HERE

Top 10

What's good though?!

I don't know about you, but as of late, I have been anxious for new music. And although there is a lot out there right now, my taste in the dope shit has shifted. Looking back on the year, and my Ipod (the 5th one in 2 years...), I do appreciate the work that some artist have provided. There have been a few incredible mix tapes that should have been albums... actually, more than a few. When analyzing the progression of this game (music), you can hear the direction that the art is headed. Last years best work speaks volumes to an uprising of the underground. There are some cold MC's out there, and it is only a matter of time. If you don't catch up, your going to miss it...so, I wanted to help you out.

We have compiled a list of the top ten mix tapes of the last year, and decided to share. Over the next week, all of these top ten tapes will be available for download here. Check out the list, let me know what you think.

09: Lupe Fiasco - Enemy of the State
